This week, we were normal people, as we had a car for the week. We usually don’t drive (my wife doesn’t even have a driving license). As I was not working untill Thursday, and my wife had taken some time off from her thesis, we did some day trips around Nantes.

And one of the best places we went to was Vitre, a great little town east of Rennes, roughly 1h30 mn away from Nantes. This is one of the best preserved medieval towns I have ever seen. We immediately fell in love with the architecture of the place, the small streets, the massive castle, the imposing city walls, the quaint little half-timbered houses : loved it all. We will hopefully go back again soon for a short trip to the past…
